Sporting Life x Adidas: Back to School

Sporting Life x Adidas: Back to School

The Ask

Sporting Life wanted to amplify its partnership with adidas during the high-stakes back-to-school season - driving awareness, increasing sneaker sales and standing out in a crowded landscape of media and influencer events. The challenge: create something big enough to break through, spark meaningful engagement and inspire high-quality, shareable content from top-tier media and creators.

The Approach

We flipped the traditional back to school launch on its head by designing a content-first experience built for today’s social landscape. At Sporting Life’s flagship Yorkdale location, we created an immersive, larger-than-life content studio anchored by a massive adidas shoebox (no really, it was huge), turning a simple retail space into a scroll-stopping creative playground.

We invited Toronto’s top media and influencers to step onto set, offering multiple content touchpoints from candid BTS moments to professionally shot photos and TikTok/Reel-ready video assets. Guests were styled by a notable Canadian stylist, outfitted in fresh adidas sneakers and back-to-school looks, treated to hair and makeup, and captured by top-tier creative talent.

To extend the energy beyond influencers, we layered in consumer-facing moments with live DJ sets, a dynamic host and on-site sneaker customization, giving shoppers a reason to stay, engage and buy.

The POMP

The activation drew 30 of Toronto’s leading influencers and media, generating over 18.2 million social media impressions and 158+ pieces of content - a major win for reach and engagement.

The experience sparked strong organic buzz, with creators eager to share and consumers drawn into the store to see it for themselves. Store and web traffic increased with higher-than-benchmark email engagement following the inclusion of influencer content in brand marketing materials, the space became a destination, and the Sporting Life x adidas partnership showed up in a way that felt fresh, culturally relevant and built for content.
